Finding four days on ourJune calendar unencumbered, we took off for three nights to spend in the town of Bodega Bay. Here's a sampling of what we saw.

About 65 miles north of San Francisco on the coast of California lies the small town and harbor of Bodega Bay, sheltered by Bodega head peninsula to the west and including the sand spit which contains Doran Beach and campground. A breakwater provides passage and protection for fishing boats. 2003:06:29 10:12:48 42 mm 1/60 f4.2 |

On Saturday we drove to the little town of Occidental which is about ten miles inland and wandered the single street lying in a tiny valley between two steep foothills on either side. 2003:06:28 14:11:34 34 mm 1/126 f5.3 |

On the way we stopped at a bakery with wonderful smells and a wide variety of loaves. We restricted our purchase to two to take home to share. 2003:06:28 12:04:21 28 mm 1/50 f3.8 |
